Day (s) ~ I lost track and don't care anymore. I have four days left.

I really can't wait to get home. really. I am staring to lose my patience with this place because I feel like I am always bored. I don't really have anything I can do!

We did go to the big mall earlier this week and I bought some nice shirts from Forever 21, my new favorite store. They have one in Toronto so I plan on going sometime. So that was a pretty nice trip. I also bought Final Fantasy 12 but I can't pay it till I get home because it's for PS2 >___<;;

Other than that I haven't done anything. We were going to go to Pearl Street today because I desperately want the new Metric CD, a ring and a new pair of headphones (because mine are dying and soon I won't have any music to drown out everything else anymore either). I'm feeling very complainy today, but I don't complain out loud. I don't hate it here or anything, I'm just on my last nerve and not really enjoying myself like I would be at home. I have a feeling that these last four days are going to be really really really long and really really really boring for me. If I could I would hop on the plane home right now. I want to. Next year I am going to go to camp, a month is way to long to be spending away from people my age. It makes me irritable. GRRRR.

Day (s) ~ Twenty-Four to Thrity-One (I think. correct me if I got my numbers wrong)

Thirty-One days.... That's a whole month! I still have another week here in Colorado. The past week was pretty uneventful, but enjoyable. I can't remember much of Monday so I'll skip right to Wednesday. We went to an IMAX at the museum with some friends of Caroline and the girls. it was about the Ocean. I have never been to an IMAX before, so it was all really new to me. I love it. I really want to go to another one sometime :3

Some other point in the week we went to the bookstore and I picked up two new books. For the rest of the week all I really did was read. Ocasionally we go out... but it's mostly just me reading. I finished A Northern Light the other day, it is such a good book. I plan on lending it to a few people when I get back.

OH MAN. big news. We went to he Butterfly Pavillion the other day, AND I HELD A SPIDER! That's right. A big hairy one! It was actually pretty cute :3 I would not have done it if everybody in the room wasn't staring at me and pressuring me to do it. I give in way too easily to peer pressure sometimes.... but I didn't regret it. I was actually considering a tarantula as a pet... but then I decided that I don't need one. ahaha. Rosie was cute though... and I almost never think Spiders are cute. This was a huuuuge step for me. (I got a sticker out of it too!)

I stopped writing this last night... and I was so tired that I forgot to post I guess, so I decided to finish the post now... aha. Last night the girls had some friends over and they speI woke up to four screaming girls this morning and I was pretty much ready to snap, but I didn't because I have good self control. I was up really late last night worrying over a certain friend of mine *ahem* so the screaming was really uncalled for. It makes me miss my little sister a whole lot. These kids almost make her look calm. :3 I have exactly one week left until I get home. I really wish I could come home earlier, I do like it here... but it's also a bit miserable for me with no friends and stuff. I also won't be able to see Marcy for a really long time because she leaves for Japan the day I land in Toronto. We used to spend practically the whole Summer together, and now we can't spend any of it together... unless Skype counts.

We're going to a big mall tomorrow, so maybe that will cheer me up a bit.

Day (s) Fifteen through Twenty-Three ~ Camping

So... the big long camping trip is past us. We were on the road for nine days. We went to four different places. Our first stop was Elk Creek, where we saw the largest body of water in Colorado. We spent two nights there. During our one full day we went out on a boat (and of course it started to rain as soon as we got out there) and it was awesome. I got to drive the boat myself for a bit : D fun times. We decided to be Gilligan's island, and I'm Gilligan... and then we changed it to just random people. Ella became our boat's Glamour Girl, Ivie was our Captain, Pat was just the Driver, Caroline the official Photographer, and I was the Movie Star. It rained alot while we were in Elk Creek, but we still managed to have a very nice time.

On our third day we set off fpor Mesa Verde. The drive to get there is considered the most beautiful, with all the mountains. We went on the Million Dollar Highway, named for it's gorgeous view. They call that area of Colorado the Swiss Alps of North America because the mountains are just all so beautiful there. I think we must have been on the road for at least seven hours. We kept pulling over to take pictures, and at one point it started to hail golfballs. I felt bad for the cyclists out there. We eventually made it to our campsite, set up and relaxed. We stayed in that campground for another two nights. On our full day we went up to the actual Mesa Verde Park where we saw the ancient houses built by the Pueblo into the sides of the cliff. They were HUNDREDS of years old, and it was really cool to learn about how people lived back then. I will have pictures when I get back, and I did send out a couple of Mesa postcards. The site in Mesa we visited was called the Cliff Palace. It was HUGE. Very cool though.

After Mesa Verde we went to Telluride (ToHELLuride). Back in the day, Telluride was the place for all the real badass cowboys to hang out. It was famous for the showdowns and typical cowboy stuff. Most of the buildings have been restored, but there are still a couple that look like what they did 100 years ago. We stayed in Matterhorn just outside of the town for three nights. We got two full days to explore the town and whatnot. I picked up a pretty sweet t-shirt while I was there. I wanted a cowboy hat, but couldn't find any reasonably priced ones. Out of all the places we went to Telluride was probably my favorite. Mesa was interesting and cool and stuff, but I really really likes the town here. At one point we saw a whole line of really nice cars just parked in the middle of the street. The first one was a Firari. ahaha. I think we have some pictures of that too, it was really funny to see all the people stop to gawk at the cars.

Our last stop was in Redstone. Named for all of it's red stones. aha. We stayed in a very nice campground, the Crystal River was right next to it. We went down there to pick up nice rocks and dip our feet in. Pat and the girls actually swam... Caroline and I were happy just having our feet in. On our full day (since we stayed there for two nights) we went to the Glennwood Hotsprings. It was soooo nice. The springs are directly from the mountain. They have a pipe leading all the water to a giant olympic sized swimming pool. For the big pool they pump cold water into it to cool the hot water down a bit, so it's exactly the right body temperature. There was a smaller tub where the really hot water was. It was hard to stay in it for longer than five minutes it was so hot.

And that concludes the camping trip. I am still here for another two weeks :3 Looking foward to whatever exciting thing we do next!

P.S. I do miss home alot though

Day (s) ~ Twelve, Thriteen and Fourteen

Hello y'all. We're leaving for our camping trip soon so this will be my last update for the next ten days or so. There still isn't much to say, but I will be keeping a little log of what happens during the trip, so there will be a nice big long entry or two about how that goes ;)

Again, thank you Carrie for your comments... they always make me smile and feel like I own the world.

Day ~ Twelve

We didn't do much today since it was so hot outside. Caroline took me to a big store called Khol's (or something along those lines) and I ended up buying a brown summer dress. I was unsure about it at first.. but I think once I've worn it for real it will be all good. It was on sale, and none of the other dresses really appealed to me much.

Day ~ Thirteen

We went to the museum in Denver! It was really crowded because there were several groups of kids from various Summer camps... so yeah... lots of screaming. haha. Oh well. I thought that the Egyptian Exhibit was really cool. There were these two mummies on display, one was a poor woman and the other was a rich woman. The poor woman was creepy because she was really poorly wraped so you could see her face kind of. Her teeth were sticking out :S yikes. She was also very twisted looking as far as her body goes. I read the plaque and it said that since she was poor she was mummified with all of her organs left in her. There were also some CAT scans that we could look at to see her bones underneath the thin layer of linen. The Rich woman was in a poor man's coffin... it was possible that the coffin's were swithced a long time ago. She was wealthy because she had several layers of really nice linen wrapped around her. You couldn't see anything of her face, it was so well wrapped. on the plaque it read that her organs were removed, wrapped in linen and then put back into her. The CAT's for her were really interesting too, because you could see the amulets and stuff that were wrapped up with her, and her skeleton almost looked happy compared to the poor woman's.

When we got into the car to head home it was about 107 degre.... that's an oven setting! Now I understand what itfeels like to be cooked alive. It was HOT. And I was wearing pants (why?!). aha. When we got home I didn't bother changing because I just sat outside in the shade with the guitar for a while. I'm slowly learning how to play "Your Ex-Lover is Dead" by Stars. The title sounds a bit... sad but it's a really pretty song.

Day ~ Fourteen

Tomorrow we leave for the big camping trip. I am still in my pyjamas, and probably won't be changing today... we won't be going into town or anything, so it's all good. UNless I decided to take a walk later, then I might change. MAYBE. I put aside all of the tings I am taking on the trip and put all of my other things away in my suitcase so it's not messy down here when the people looking after the cat come. I'm missing the Buskers... which is a first for me. If I am lucky they'll be in Ottawa when I get home, so I can still see them... It will just be a lot more crowded. Oh well. I hope all of my friends are having a good time today :3

Shelly is slowly making her journey to Colorado just as I'm leaving. I think she said she would be here maybe tomorrow. If we're lucky she's going to still be around when I get back from my camping trip so we're going to try and gt together and hang out on Pearl Street. I think that would be really nice... seeing as I'm so deprived of people my age. ah well... maybe just maybe I'll meet someone before I leave. That would be really nice.

Day (s) ~ Nine, Ten and Eleven

So yet again I have been having problems with getting to the blog... although it seems to be working every couple of days... which is nice. I think it's because Pat probably set some crazy thing up that blocks Google everyonce in a while, because here... Google is the enemy. I still use it though. :P "Google-ing it" is in my opinion easier to say than "Binging it". I would like to mention to Carrie, thank you for your last comment... it made my entire week! I will try to remember and do those things ;)

Now to summarize the days... or something like that.

Day ~ Nine (The Fourth of July!)

I dressed up with the American colours special for this day! We hung out around Pearl Street for a while before going to dinner and the big celebration. It rained like CRAZY. My aunt and uncle were saying how they never have this much rain... and they're blaming it all on me because I'm canadian. Oh well... haha. Anyway, we went to this Latin place for dinner where I had this strange lentil Salad... I wasn't really in the mood for cold salad but everything else had meat in it... I ended up taking the rest of it home and eating it for lunch the next day. After dinner we ewnt down to an open mall, where they had a book store. I went in and asked one of the guys where the manga section was, and he showed me his t-shirt which was an FLCL shirt (I want it). I was like "that's freakin' awesome!" and was inspired to buy volume Two of that wonderful series. The guy at the counter was very nice. We talked about Canada and how the money is different. Instead of the usual weird look he smiled and told me to have a good vacation and that he had nevr been to Canada before. Then the next person in line came so I had to go. But it was a nice chat. Unfourtunately upon leaving the store I laud at by some girls because I had pulled out my mang make sure I bought the right volumes... ;____; Geeky girls are uncommon here... but the boys seem to like it. Now I just have to meet one or two that live around the area so I can hang out with them... not just the nice waiters and employees in book stores... or guys in Dairy Queen. haha.

Anyhoo, we went to the celebration at the huge stadium later. It was really.... cheesey... aha. I didn't know any of the words or actions to any of the songs... but I did make a lot of paper airplanes and threw them out into the stadium. For some reason that's really popular here. I wrote "Greeting from Canada" on all of mine, and they seemed to get around pretty fast. haha. There was also a beach ball going around that random people would just hit, it was great... but not as great doing the wave!!! I looove when large crowds do a good wave. I caught a good video of that, so when I get home I'll put it up :3. After a few hours of cheesey celebration they set off the fireworks. I LOVE fireworks. They were HUGE! I've never seen such a nice fireworks display. It made me feel like my friends should have been there with me. We got home really late that night, so I slept pretty well.

Day ~ Ten

We didn't really do much... I mostly just sat around and read. I finished all the Kenshin books! (YAY). I also got a call from my mum which made me really happy. :3 I miss my family and my friends. So yeah... nothing too exciting happened...

Day ~ Eleven

I had nightmares all night and didn't get a wink of sleep. I was pretty much dead all down and breaking down every time I was alone. I don't know... I guess the homesickness was just intensified by about +10000000 since I was tired and upset. I babysat most of the morning and taught myself to play "Help I'm Alive" by Metric so Baby and I can play it together when I return home. Other than that I didn't do much... :3 I went to bed early too so... yeah. I'm hoping to hear from Baby sometime soon... I just have to get my home number.. aha. I think it's important that I talk to somebody soon before I crack again. It's hard not being able to hang out with people my age... Maybe if I went for another walk I would meet people. Still no sign of that Candice girl : P Ah well. I'm going camping on Friday for about ten days... I might be meeting up with Shelly after the camoing trip, so I wo't be too deprived for too long. :3

Well, I think that's about it for now :3 I hope to hear from my friends and family again soon.

Day (s) ~ Six, Seven and Eight

I have not been able to update in a while because the computer keeps freezing when I go to Internet pages. It isn't bad when I'm using SN or Skype though. It has really been getting on my nerves, but I think I will survive.

Day Six (Canada Day!)

We went to Celestial Seasonings, the big factory where all the tea is made. Is was so cool to see all the machinery and stuff. My favorite part of that tour was the Mint room. It was sooo over powering that every pore in my body just opened up almost instantly and absorbed the crazy minty smell. I ended up having to buy some Peppermint lip balm because I loved the smell so much. My sweater STILL smells like Mint. Unfortunately we went while they were doing Inventory so we didn't get to see the factory in motion. The nice thing about that was that we didn't have to wear hairnets. haha. It was still a very nice visit though. Other than that we didn't do much... it's sometimes nice just to unwind I think. OH! I do believe we went for a swim though... or that may have been the day before, I dunno. Haven't been swimming since.

Day Seven

I don't really remember doing anything too exciting yesterday... I did go for a nice long walk in the rain. I got a little lost, but eventually found my way back home. I get lost so easily... but my pride prevents me from turning back he way I came. haha. I guess I'm a bit silly that way. My directional sense is still worse than ever : P Don't worry though... I always get to my destination... eventually. After I got home we went for a family bike ride. I usually try to get out of those but Pat bribed me with Dairy Queen... for some reason I couldn't resist... He said "It's not like we're holding a gun to your head". Unfortunately sometimes that is what it feels like... ahaha... anyways... we went on our bike ride and I got this huuuuge dip cone. It was dipped in Cherry stuff... I made a loud statement about how we don't have that in Canada... and I got a few weird looks, and I'm sure my long sleeves, pants and Astro Boy buckle weren't helping. On the way back from the Dairy Queen after the ice cream I thought I was going to die... I was panting like a dog, it was horrible! I hit my knees off the pedals when I took off because the bike seat is a little too low for me. Pat said he would change that for next time... (next time??? O___O;;) biking home after ice cream kinda made me feel like I was at Fat Camp or something.

Day Eight (today!)

We went up to this little Cowboy town in the mountains around 8500ft in elevation. It's the town where they have the "Frozen Dead Guy". He's this old guy who is frozen until they find a safe way to unfreeze him and bring him back to life. It's a really big thing there, they have a huuuge "Frozen Dead Guy" festival every year. Too bad I won't be around for that. We had some ice cream while we there and Caroline taught ne how to use the camera that I am borrowing. It's pretty much all manual... sooo much easier than the ones they made us use in class. ahaha. The mountain view was sooo beautiful from where we were. We also saw the rapids from the waterfall. We were planning on going up to the waterfall and sticking our feet in, but it was closed. It's been raining a lot so the water level is unusually high here. We did stop on the way down and stuck our feet in the rapids. It was very cold, but since I already have cold damage in both my feet I didn't really feel much numbness like my uncle and cousins did. Cold damage is bad... but you get used to it.

Well... I think that's pretty much it for now folkals. I'm still scaly like a dragon : P
OH. Tomorrow is the Fourth of July and I am very excited for the celebration. We will be going to this huuuge stadium in the university where there will be performers and fireworks. It will be sooo cool. I will try and get some shots with my borrowed camera if I can :3
I'll upload my pictures once I feel like there are enough. haha... and those other ones I promised a while ago... hmm maybe I'll just do a big entry for photos near the end from start to finish :3

DESTINY

P.S. Still missing my friends... but I will make some new ones soon.

P.P.S. who wants my next letter?
